They didn't have anyone that could work the Kiln or teach pottery to the residents. This man has a masters in design, and teaches pottery at one of the universities in Seoul. He is going to volunteer at Ilsan twice a week, and teach the residents how to make pottery. He will also work the Kiln, so everything can be painted and then glazed.
First there were speeches to be made...
And then a demonstration...
And to show just how easy throwing pots can be? he picked a non-suspecting audience member to give it a shot...

Then it was time for refreshments and treats for all of the residents!

This is such an important resource to be restored here at Ilsan. The items that are made - coffee mugs, plates, bowls, dishes, etc...are all put in the store for visitors to purchase.
