CHILDREN'S DAY PART II

After lunch at the Ganghwa Memorial Hall, we loaded up and went to the Ganghwa Peace Observatory. When you start getting this close to North Korea, you know it...

Ganghwa Peace Observatory, which is located in the northernmost point of the Ganghwa district, was opened in Sep of 2008.  The observatory was established to promote a mutual understanding between the two Koreas and to promote a unified Korea which will be peaceful and prosperous.  It is composed of a 4-story building and 1-basement. There is an outdoor observatory, an observation room, a room to wish for unification, and an exhibition hall.

The red marker below is where we were, looking across the Han River to North Korea...this where the Han River meets the West Sea.

North Korean money

Everything at this location was in Korean...so we went in and looked at all the pictures, took pictures of North Korea, and then....spent the rest of our time beating up Martin!

Gotta love Koreans! they even think of boxes to put your dead batteries in...so they can be recycled...
